‘Eigengrau’, the dark grey background that you ‘perceive’ in the absence of light, is a phenomenon that occurs in the brain in a completely darkened room. This peculiar phenomenon was the focus of the SUN-SET performance. Beyond the Black Box, the multidisciplinary festival in Amsterdam, spoke with Ezra Veldhuis and Bosse Provoost about their new project, the video work Even a Sun Disintegrates Now and Then, which they made together with Benjamin Cools (performer, film and sound artist) and Oshin Albrecht (performer, visual artist and theatre maker).
